Tierra #38
The ‘Tierra’ series was created towards the end of my time in Mallorca, post-lockdown 2020. It evolved out of the ‘Island’ series, and out of experiments with action painting, using the Mallorca soil, and water from the Balearic Sea.
The paper was left out in the sun for a few days, causing the cyanotype solution to rust, producing colors beyond the usual Prussian Blue of the cyanotype process.
Each of these resemble a convergence of Earth and Ocean, exactly what beautiful Mallorca represented to me.
Size: 20 x 20 cm // 7.8 x 7.8 inches
Details: Original cyanotype on Michel Econobloc watercolor paper 280 gr. Unframed. Signed, titled, and dated by the artist on the back.
Made in: Llucmajor, Mallorca (Spain) in June 2020
